Welcome to MoutainbikeMalta.com, the site dedicated to Maltese guys and gals who enjoy getting out of bed on Sunday morning for a bit of mountainbiking...despite the fact that the closest thing to a mountain on this tiny Island is the Maghtab landfill.
But hey, no mountains? No problem! We have us much fun getting dirty on two wheels as our spoilt and lucky cousins in the Alps, Wales, Colorado or wherever. When it gets too claustrophobic we simply get on a plane and go find us a mountain. So far we've been to the Pyrenees, Wales, Etna (Sicily), Sallbach (Austria) and Morzine (French Alps).
Anyone is welcome to join 'the Merhla', whatever your age, or cost of your bike! We just ask that you remove your bike stand, come with a sense of humour, and commit yourself to drinking chlorine-tasting tea out of a glass.
We meet every Sunday at 7am near Bathroom Design, on Birkirkara bypass.
